Manuel Mendonça Manuel Mendonça
Team Leader of Projects Unit coordinating

Manuel Mendonça was born in 1972 in Lisbon, Portugal. Between 1995 and 1997 Manuel collaborated with Philips in several projects on Intelligent Lighting. He joined SIBS in 1997 where we worked as an EFT POS software developer. Later on he joined the certification department being responsible for the design and execution of the certification tests of SIBS ATM local application. He was also responsible for the several ATM homologation processes. Later he joined the Security Department where it performed several works related with security policies. In 2011 he joined the IT Division being responsible for the implementation, follow up and supervision of several projects in Europe and Africa. Currently he is the Team Leader of Projects Unit coordinating all project implementations from SIBS INTERNATIONAL. In Parallel he maintained an academic activity. He is an engineer holding an BSc and a licentiate degree in digital systems and communications, an MSc degree in computer science and currently he is a PhD student in computer science. He is the author of several research papers related with device drivers vulnerabilities.

John Chaplin has been highly influential in card payments and FinTech for 25 years. As Executive Vice President he was a driving forces in Visa for 17 years and he then spent 5 years with First Data in senior global roles. He is Chairman of Ixaris Payments, a virtual card platform provider with clients in multiple countries. He advises Helios Investment Partners, the leading fund and is a Director of their portfolio company Interswitch. He was a member of the Payments Market Expert Group advising the European Commission on electronic payments and advises many central banks and payments schemes worldwide. He is involved in the Fintech 50 programme for start-up companies in Europe and advises several individual organisations. He is the organiser and Chairman of the Global Payments Innovation Jury comprising 40global payments & FinTech CEO’s and publishes a widely read report every 2 years. He is an expert on payment eco systems and how they interact with the regulatory environment. In 2014 he published major global research involving regulators and payment operators. He holds a BSc in Economics & Economic History and a Masters in Management from Henley Management College. He lives in France &UK.

Mrs. Christabel Phemy Onyejekwe is a professional Banker who has held various positions in the Nigerian Banking Industry. She holds an LLB Hons Degree from the University of Lagos and BL Hons from the Nigeria Law School. She also holds an MBA certificate in Banking and Finance.

She started her banking career in First Bank of Nigeria PLC and piqued in UBA PLC as a General Manager with over 20 years of core Banking experience. She served in Magnum Trust Bank as the pioneer Head of Treasury between 1992 and 1997. She joined the erstwhile Standard Trust Bank in 1998 and rose to become the Chief Marketing Officer Lagos in charge of all Lagos Branches in 2003. Thereafter, she was seconded to Continental Trust Bank as Group Treasurer. She played prominent roles during the consolidation of the Banks in 2005 and thereafter was appointed the pioneer Regional Director Lagos in charge of over 100 branches in Lagos in 2006. She has versatile experience in various areas of Banking spanning Consumer & Commercial Banking, Corporate Banking and Treasury activities. Until her appointment she was General Manager in Corporate Banking Directorate of UBA PLC with oversight supervision of major conglomerates/multinationals in the industry. She is a proven turn around and result oriented professional with strong business drive and leadership qualities. She is an Associate Member of WIMBIZ and also holds an Honorary Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) Membership. She is happily married with children.

Mr. Valentine Obi is the Managing Director of eTranzact International PLC. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, a Masters degree in Computer Information System and an MBA from the prestigious Instituto de Empressa, Spain. He is also an Alumnus of the Harvard Business School. Mr. Obi has an extensive experience in Information Technology and has served in various capacities both locally and internationally. He developed and designed the 2003 Computerworld Honors award winning e-business platform of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE). Also, as the Project Director for the World Bank assisted project of Oyo State Valuation Office where he was directly involved in the design and implementation of a property valuation and management information system for the State. Other duties as a Project Director of World Bank assisted IT projects in West Africa includes; Project Director for the Controller and Accountant General’s department of the Government of Ghana, the Project Director of Budgets Office, Ministry of Finance Ghana. His motivation stems from the joy of meeting a need, and providing a solution that works keeps me going. In his words: “As long as you are comfortable with the status quo, innovation disappears.” Mr.Obi is currently the Chairman of Sybase Nigeria, a member of the Board of Regents of Covenant University and a recipient of Computerworld Honors Gold Medal of Achievement in San Francisco, California, United States. In the year 2005, Central Bank of Nigeria appointed him as a member of National Payment Technical Committee. As an epayment industry pioneer, Mr. Obi believes the industry is still growing and he anticipates rapid uptake of epayment products and services in the nearest future. Especially with the introduction of the cashless policy which is a key driver for growth and expansion of all forms of mobile and electronic payments. Mr. Obi is married with three children, and worships at the Faith Tabernacle, where his mentor, Bishop David Oyedepo is the Presiding Bishop.

She has led both companies into a number of strategic international partnerships across four continents.

Dougie Henderson joined Visa Inc, a global payments technology company, as Head of Emerging Products & Innovation – Africa in January 2012. Based in Visa Sub-Sahara Africa’s head office in Johannesburg, Mr. Henderson is responsible for product management and strategy in areas such as EMV chip migration, advanced payments, and new technology deployments such as digital commerce; mobile; contactless payments; transit; tokenisation and host card emulation. Prior to joining Visa, he was Vice President of Advanced Products, Africa for MasterCard. During his tenure at MasterCard, Mr. Henderson played an integral role in implementing new technologies, as well as initiating innovative card programmes and designs. Mr. Henderson joined the MasterCard Africa team in 2006, following a short stint as a Chip Consultant to the organisation. He has extensive experience in banking, as well as transactional and card-based systems. Previously, he worked with companies such as Ingenico SA (Pty) Ltd, Face Technologies and Nedcor Bank Card Division.

Richard Bialek joined GTP on August 18th 2014, succeeding current CEO and GTP founder Mr. Robert Merrick, who has transitioned to the role of Chairman. Mr. Bialek has over 30 years of executive level experience and success as CEO, GM and CMO for business units of Fortune 100 financial services companies focusing on new products, innovative payment technology and emerging global markets. Rich has also been CEO and founder of two successful start-up companies and taken a lead role in over a dozen merger and acquisition transactions. Immediately prior to joining GTP, Rich was Head of Prepaid Products for Visa’s CEMEA region based in Dubai UAE, where he was responsible for Prepaid Market and Product Development. Rich recruited and developed a CEMEA leadership team that doubled payment volume and revenues annually during his tenure. Visa achieved market share leadership based on development and implementation of innovative market-shaping travel, government, virtual card and youth programs in the CEMEA region. Mr. Bialek earned a BA in Economics from Harvard College and was a Harvard College National Scholar and Boyden Scholar. He earned his MBA from the Harvard Business School and was a Harvard University National Fellow.

Omokehinde Ojomuyide is the Vice President & Area Business Head for West Africa, MasterCard. Based in Nigeria, Omoke is responsible for advancing acceptance and issuance of MasterCard’s payment products in Nigeria and other English-speaking countries in West Africa. Prior to her appointment as Area Business Head, Omoke fulfilled the role of Vice President forBusiness Development in the West African region. Before joining MasterCard, Omoke was employed by the Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank), whereshe spent four years as the Head of Cards and Product Development.
Prior to GTBank, sheworked at Econet (now known as Airtel). She holds an MBA from the Lagos Business School, and completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Ibadan in Nigeria. Gunther Mull Mr. Günther Mull

Mr. Günther Mull has founded DERMALOG Identification Systems GmbH in 1995. He is the owner of 77.6 % shares of the company and serves as its CEO / Managing Director. After having completed his studies in human biology, Mr. Mull was a lecturer and researcher at Hamburg University where he focused on the subject of automized fingerprint identification. In academia he successfully developed a platform-independent software that captures codes and compares fingerprints. Within the scope of this project Mr. Mull has developed an optical fingerprint live scanner.
Today his company is the largest German biometrics manufacturer, employing more than 150 staff members in Hamburg, Kuala Lumpur and Phnom Penh. DERMALOG generates a turnover of over 31 Million € (2014) and owns more than 20 patents. Mr. Mull’s company has successfully completed 130 large scale installations in over 70 countries.
